Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited in Maine is seeking DSP/Work & Community Support Specialists to engage individuals in work, recreation, and activities that promote independence. This role provides on-site, long-term job support and acts as a coach and advocate for the client.

Candidates travel within the local community (mileage reimbursed), participate in community activities, and collaborate with a supportive team during daytime hours, Monday–Friday; part-time options may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Must be comfortable using MS Office and documenting notes.
• Valid drivere2t willingness to travel locally.
• Monday2d9 Friday daytime hours; part-time flexibility.

DSP/Work & Community Support Specialists (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist)

engage individuals in work, recreation, and other personal activities that promote living a preferred lifestyle in their community. Work & Community Support gives the individual the opportunity to participate in activities that will put them on a path to independence.

A typical day might include the following:

• Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual’s employment
• Serve as their coach and advocate to foster success in the workplace
• Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills
• Engage in daily community-based travel, providing transportation as you actively accompany individuals to work, volunteer and community sites to build their path to independence. (mileage reimbursement provided)
