Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited in Maine (Falmouth) seeks a DSP/Work & Community Support to engage individuals in employment, recreation, and community activities, helping them pursue a preferred lifestyle and independence.

You will provide long-term on-site job support, coach and advocate, and facilitate participation in volunteer and leisure activities while traveling within the community (mileage reimbursement).

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally.
• Monday – Friday, daytime hours; flexibility offered for part-time.
• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Comfortable using MS Office and mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills.

DSP/Work & Community Support (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist)

engage individuals in work, recreation, and other personal activities that promote living a preferred lifestyle in their community. Work & Community Support gives the individual the opportunity to participate in activities that will put them on a path to independence.

A typical day might include the following:

• Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual's employment
• Serve as their coach and advocate to foster success in the workplace
• Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills
• Engage in daily community-based travel, providing transportation as you actively accompany individuals to work, volunteer and community sites to build their path to independence. (mileage reimbursement provided)

• Valid driver's license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday - Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Pay: $19-$22 per hour
