Job summary

Catholic Charities’ Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is seeking a Direct Support Professional for overnight residential counseling in our group homes. You will support adults with disabilities, focusing on health, safety and daily living skills.

This part-time role runs Friday and Saturday nights (11:00pm–7:00am) with pay $20.49/hr on weekdays and $21.49/hr for weekend shifts; benefits include paid training, medical, dental, life insurance, 403B and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license.
• Ability to meet CPR/First Aid and emergency procedures.
• Team-oriented with residents' best interests in mind.

Responsibilities

• Help meet residents' personal health, safety and welfare.
• Assist with bathing/toileting and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and residents.
• Drive residents to/from day programs using agency vehicles.
• Daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with community-based activities.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Regular Salary:

$20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

Hours:

Part Time- 16 hours (Friday and Saturday, 11:00pm - 7:00am)

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional/Overnight Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
• This position requires daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community-based activities

Requirements

• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus
• This career requires HS diploma or equivalent
• A valid (non-provisional) driver’s license
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.
