Job summary

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is seeking a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor to help meet residents’ health and safety needs in our group homes. The role includes assisting with personal care, housekeeping, meals, and life skills, plus medication support.

You will drive residents to programs, document services daily, and participate in community activities. Part-time, 16 hours weekly (Fri 3:00pm–11:00pm, Sat 3:00pm–11:00pm) with paid training and competitive

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license
• Ability to meet CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation requirements
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus
• Must be a team player focused on residents' best interests

Responsibilities

• Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• Assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs and community using agency vehicles.
• Daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with community-based activities.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

Part Time-Shift: 16 hours per week (Friday and Saturday 3:00pm-11:00pm)

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional/Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• This position requires daily documentation of services provided.

Requirements

• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.
