Catholic Charities-Dept For Persons With Disabilities (DPD) is seeking a Direct Support Professional/Overnight Residential Counselor (DSP) in New Jersey. The role supports residents in group homes with personal care, safety and daily living tasks.

The position is part-time (16 hours per week) with Sunday and Monday night shifts (11:00 PM–7:00 AM). Pay is $20.49/hour weekdays and $21.49/hour on weekend shifts; full benefits are available for qualifying roles.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• A valid (non-provisional) driver’s license is required.
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.
• Must meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct care to residents in group homes to support personal health, safety and welfare.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents.
• Drive residents to/from day programs using agency vehicles.
• Maintain daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with community-based activities.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

Hours: Part Time-Shift: 16 hours per week, (Sunday and Monday 11:00pm-7:00am)

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional/Overnight Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• A Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
• This position requires daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community-based activities
