Job summary

Catholic Charities-Dept For Persons With Disabilities (DPD) seeks a Direct Support Professional/Overnight Residential Counselor to support adults in our group homes. The overnight shift (Thu, Fri, Sat 11:00pm–9:00am) provides full-time hours and patient care.

The role involves personal care, medication assistance, and daily documentation, with strong teamwork and communication essential for success.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to meet requirements.
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas (bathing/toileting); participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs and within the community using agency vehicles.
• Daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community-based activities.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

Hours: Full Time (Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 11:00pm-9:00am)

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional/Overnight Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• A Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.

Requirements

• This career requires HS diploma or equivalent

• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.
