Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead in Minnesota. You will assist in developing and monitoring individual plans, and review client files to ensure completeness, including medication records, progress notes, and reports.

You will maintain documentation and participate in regular trainings and meetings to meet regulatory requirements. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year with individuals with disabilities,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or experience with vulnerable populations is required.
• At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities is required.
• Medication administration training may be required (obtain after hire).
• First Aid and CPR certification may be required (obtain after hire).
• Mental Health Certification or related certification may be required (obtain after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance is required.
• Driver's license is required and MVR with satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to read, write and use computer; basic math and problem-solving skills.

• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase up to $17.50/hour.

Job Summary:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead, you will assist in the development and monitoring of individual plans and monitor client files to ensure completeness and accuracy, including medication administration records, progress notes, and relevant reports. You will ensure a safe and secure environment by noting any safety hazards and/or maintenance needs for the site and vehicles as well as address any unsafe situations that might arise. You will be required to maintain documentation, perform record keeping and participate in periodic meetings/trainings according to regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required.
• Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities required.
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training if required and CPR Certificate (may be obtained after hire).
• Mental Health Certification or other related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance is required.
• Driver's license required.
• Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required.
• Ability to read, write and use computer required.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to recognize boundaries.
• Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
• Computer skills that support LSS technology.
• Patience, self-control, and flexibility.
