Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead to help develop and monitor individual plans, and to ensure client files, including medication administration records, progress notes, and reports, are complete and accurate.

You will help maintain a safe environment by noting safety hazards and maintenance needs, address unsafe situations, and participate in regular meetings and trainings as required by regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience with individuals with disabilities.
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training and CPR certificate may be obtained after hire.
• Mental Health certification or related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance is required.
• Driver's license required.
• Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with satisfactory driving record required.
• Ability to read, write and use computer.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to recognize boundaries.
• Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
• Computer skills that support LSS technology.
• Patience, self-control, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase up to $18.50/hour.

You will ensure a safe and secure environment by noting any safety hazards and/or maintenance needs for the site and vehicles as well as address any unsafe situations that might arise. You will be required to maintain documentation, perform record keeping and participate in periodic meetings/trainings according to regulations.
