Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is seeking a Direct Support Professional Lead to assist in developing and monitoring individual plans and to ensure documentation such as medication records and progress notes are complete. You will maintain a safe environment, record maintenance, and participate in required trainings to meet regulations.

Qualifications include a high school degree or GED, experience with vulnerable populations, and a valid driver's license.

• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid/CPR training may be obtained after hire.
• Mental Health Certification or related may be required after hire.
• Background Study (BGS) clearance required.

• MVR driving record satisfactory.
• Ability to read, write and use a computer.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to recognize boundaries and maintain professional boundaries.
• Ability to suggest and implement service-enhancing strategies.
• Computer skills supporting LSS technology.

Responsibilities

• Upon completion of six months of consistent employment, there is an opportunity to obtain a wage increase up to $18.50/hour.

Job Summary:

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Lead, you will assist in the development and monitoring of individual plans and monitor client files to ensure completeness and accuracy, including medication administration records, progress notes, and relevant reports. You will ensure a safe and secure environment by noting any safety hazards and/or maintenance needs for the site and vehicles as well as address any unsafe situations that might arise. You will be required to maintain documentation, perform record keeping and participate in periodic meetings/trainings according to regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required.
• Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with disabilities required.
• Medication administration training when required (may be obtained after hire).
• First Aid training if required and CPR Certificate (may be obtained after hire).
• Mental Health Certification or other related certification may be required (may be obtained after hire).
• Background Study (BGS) clearance is required.
• Driver's license required.
• Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required.
• Ability to read, write and use computer required.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills required.
• Ability to recognize boundaries.
• Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service.
• Computer skills that support LSS technology.
