Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission in Carlsbad, TX seeks a Direct Support Professional III to join a residential care team serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The state centers provide care and training aligned with person-centered plans, in a mission-driven setting.

You will deliver direct care, support daily living activities, document progress, and work with the IDT to implement individualized programs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or 6 months of work experience.
• Preferred six months of experience with mental health/ID/DD.
• Valid Texas driver’s license preferred; CPR/First Aid/SUR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals.
• Assist with daily living activities and training programs.
• Document participation and progress for communication with staff.
• Mentor and guide new DSPs as part of the team.
• Assist healthcare needs and respond to emergencies; CPR as needed.
