Catholic Charities seeks a Direct Support Professional/Overnight Residential Counselor to support residents in our group homes. This full-time position involves evening shifts (4 days on, off) to ensure safety, health and daily living activities are upheld with compassion and reliability.

We offer paid training, medical/vision/dental, life insurance, a 403B, and generous time off. A HS diploma and a valid driver’s license are required to apply.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid (non-provisional) driver’s license.
• CPR/First Aid and emergency evacuation procedures knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of residents in group homes.
• Assist with bathing/toileting, cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Document services provided daily.
• Drive residents to/from day programs using agency vehicles.

Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) is one of the largest Catholic Charities Agencies providing care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the United States. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Group Homes.

Regular Salary: $20.49 per hour Mon-Fri and $21.49 per hour (shifts beginning 11PM Friday to 11PM on Sunday).

Non-work time will be paid at the base rate.

Hours: Full Time-Shift- 40 hours per week, (Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 3:00pm-11:00pm)

What’s the role of a Direct Support Professional/Overnight Residential Counselor (DSP)?

• A Residential Counselor is a direct care professional whose primary responsibility is to help meet the personal health, safety and welfare of the people living in the group home.
• You will assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas i.e. bathing/toileting; participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• You must communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and the individuals living in the homes.
• Drive residents to/from day programs, outside/within their community using agency vehicles.
• This position requires daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community-based activities

Requirements

• Be motivated to work as part of a team that acts in the best interest of our residents at all times
• Experience with ID/DD population is a plus
• This career requires HS diploma or equivalent
• A valid (non-provisional) driver’s license
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency evacuation procedures.
