Job summary

Benhaven, Inc. is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our Residential Services program in North Haven, CT.

You will provide compassionate, person-centered care to adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting, assisting with daily living activities and supporting community participation. We offer both full-time and part-time DSP positions, with flexible evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with developmental disabilities and autism preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal & driver's background check.
• CT driver's license, registration, and auto insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• CPR & PMT and DDS Med certifications preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Implement individualized support plans and goals under the direction of the Residential Services Coordinator.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Encourage individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Document daily progress and any incidents or concerns in individual files.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff members.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.

Job description

Benhaven is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in our Residential Services program. The Direct Support Professional will work with adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting to provide assistance with daily living activities and support to help them live fulfilling lives.

DSP Residential: Full-Time (30 hours): Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 3pm-9pm

Temporary DSP Residential: Part-Time (12 hours): Monday & Thursday 9am-3pm

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
