Job summary

Benhaven Inc. is seeking compassionate individuals to join our Residential Services program as Direct Support Professionals. The DSPs will support adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting, assisting with daily living activities and helping them live fulfilling lives.

Positions include Part-Time and Full-Time shifts in North Haven, CT. Training will be provided; a background check and valid CT driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals in a residential setting.
• Assist with activities of daily living (hygiene, meals, chores).
• Implement individualized support plans.
• Ensure safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Encourage participation in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Document progress and incidents in individual files.
• Communicate with individuals, families, and staff; attend trainings and meetings.

Benhaven is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in our Residential Services program. The Direct Support Professional will work with adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting to provide assistance with daily living activities and support to help them live fulfilling lives

DSP Residential: Part-Time (24 hours): Saturday, Sunday, Monday, & Friday 3p-9p

DSP Residential: Part-Time (12 hours): Saturday & Sunday 9a-3p

DSP Residential: Full-Time (36 hours): Thursday-Saturday 9p-9a

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores
• Implement individualized support plans and goals under the direction of the Residential Services Coordinator
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
• Encourage individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities
• Document daily progress and any incidents or concerns in individual files
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff members
• Attend trainings and meetings as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism preferred
• Ability to pass a criminal & driver's background check
• Valid CT driver's license, current registration and auto insurance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CPR & PMT certified preferred, but will provide training
• DDS Med Certified preferred, but will provide training
