Job summary

Benhaven Inc in North Haven, CT is seeking dedicated Direct Support Professionals to assist adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting, helping with daily living activities and promoting independence.

The DSP role covers a variety of shifts (34 or 40 hours per week) with evening and weekend hours; you will implement individual support plans, document progress, and collaborate with the Residential Services Coordinator to ensure safety and meaningful community

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal and driver's background check.
• Valid CT driver's license, current registration and auto insurance.
• CPR & PMT certification preferred; training provided.
• DDS Med Certification preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores.
• Implement individualized support plans and goals under the direction of the Residential Services Coordinator.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Encourage individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities.
• Document daily progress and any incidents or concerns in individual files.
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff members.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.

Benhaven is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in our Residential Services program. The Direct Support Professional will work with adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting to provide assistance with daily living activities and support to help them live fulfilling lives

DSP Residential:

Full-Time (34 hours): Saturday 4:30p-9:30p, Wednesday 7a-10:30a and 1p-9:30p, Thursday 7a-10:30a and 3:30p-9:30p, Friday 7a-9:30a and 4:30p-9:30p

DSP Residential:

Full-Time (40 hours): Monday 7a-9:30a & 10p-10:30a, Tuesday 10p-10:30a, Wednesday 10p-10:30a

• DDS Med Certified preferred, but will provide training
