Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced estimator for Self Perform Operations (SPO) drywall projects in Pittsburgh. You will develop detailed estimates, manage quantity take-offs, and support GMP development with preconstruction teams.

This role requires collaboration with BIM for visualizations and pricing strategies. You will lead complex estimating, value engineering, and risk assessment while coordinating with trades, vendors, and project management to deliver accurate bids on

Qualifications

• Six+ years of experience in detailed estimates for drywall and related trades.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/construction management or equivalent.
• Experience in project engineering, field supervision, or purchasing.
• Ability to read and interpret contract docs, drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Proficient with MS Office and estimating software; familiar with BIM for take-offs.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex estimating activities for SPO drywall on large projects.
• Prepare detailed estimates including quantity take-offs and cost studies.
• Develop budget and GMP considerations with the preconstruction team.
• Coordinate with BIM for quantity take-off and visualization.
• Lead estimation input during bidding and GMP process with stakeholders.
• Review estimates with internal teams to ensure accuracy.
• Develop labor rates and markups aligned with project risk and scope.
• Visit project sites to assess conditions affecting estimates.
