Job summary

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Know products in the department and respond to inquiries with suggestions.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of specials and promotions.
• Recommend items to ensure customers get what they want and need.
• Review dates and take appropriate action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Support safety programs and identify unsafe conditions for management notification.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks.
• Report all safety concerns or illegal activity.
• Cooperate in high-paced or stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts in a calm and cooperative manner.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults as needed.
