Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Kansas seeks a customer-focused team member to deliver outstanding service, keep the department clean, and help achieve department goals. You will assist customers, stock, and ensure quality while adhering to safety and food safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include answering questions, recommending products, maintaining displays, and reporting discrepancies. Previous retail experience and strong communication are a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Any retail experience.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products customers ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures; keep logs.
• Identify unsafe conditions and notify management; participate in safety programs.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair; notify appropriate manager.
• Notify management of accidents; report safety risks or illegal activity.
