Job summary

American Airlines is seeking a Supervisor, Drug and Alcohol Program Compliance to lead the enterprise program ensuring DOT/FAA compliance, positive test handling, and return‑to‑duty decisions. You will oversee SAP engagement, testing plans, and record‑keeping.

You will coach a high‑performing team, collaborate with TPAs, MROs, and Legal to ensure non‑compliance is prevented and processes remain audit‑ready across the network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing DOT/FAA regulated programs, preferably drug and alcohol testing.
• Strong knowledge of DOT/FAA rules and compliance processes.

Responsibilities

• Own and govern processes for verified positive drug/alcohol tests, refusals, cancelled tests and related determinations under 49 CFR Part 40 and DER.
• Lead Drug and Alcohol 2nd Chance Program including SAP engagement and follow up testing.
• Authorize return‑to‑duty decisions based on DOT/FAA requirements.
• Ensure documentation and records are audit‑ready.
• Coach a team handling high‑risk case management and compliance execution.
• Collaborate with TPAs, MROs, SAP vendors, Legal, and internal stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements.
• Identify systemic risk and implement corrective actions to prevent non‑compliance.
