Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking an Autonomy Integration Engineer for the Drone Stack team. The role bridges hardware, edge software, and field flight operations, roughly 50/50 between lab work and airfield testing.

You will configure embedded Linux, deploy containerized stacks, and wire mesh networks to bring autonomous aerial systems from benchtop configurations to live flight operations. The position can also be located at HQ in Sunnyvale, CA or Ann Arbor, MI with relocation offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in robotics integration, flight test engineering, embedded systems, or autonomous vehicles.
• Strong Linux CLI and containerized deployments (Docker).
• Hands-on hardware skills: wiring, soldering, diagnostics with scopes/meters.
• Scripting in Python/C++ or Shell for automation and data processing.
• Experience with serial/vehicle bus protocols (UART, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end hardware and software integration for unmanned aerial systems from bench to flight tests.
• Deploy and configure edge software across onboard computes and peripherals using Docker and Linux tools.
• Troubleshoot networks, payloads, and sensors in real time with command-line and hardware diagnostics.
• Develop Python and C++ scripts for data reduction, logging, and validation.
• Fabricate wiring harnesses, perform soldering, and define system architecture with block diagrams.
• Configure IP routing, subnets, and interfaces across flight controllers and radios.
