Job summary

Applied Intuition, Inc. is seeking an Autonomy Integration Engineer within our Drone Stack team to bridge hardware, edge software, and field flight operations.

Split roughly 50/50 between the lab and the airfield, you will bring autonomous aerial systems from benchtop configuration to live operational flight. You will configure embedded Linux environments, deploy containerized software stacks, wire up mesh networks, and write key glue code to keep subsystems communicating.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in robotics integration or autonomous vehicles.
• Deep practical comfort with the Linux CLI, networking, and Docker deployments.
• Hands-on hardware skills: soldering, wiring, diagnostics with oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Strong Python, C++, or Shell scripting for automation and data processing.
• Experience with serial and vehicle bus protocols (UART, CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I2C).
• Ability to lead major integration efforts independently and coordinate software/hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead System Bring-Up: Drive end-to-end hardware and software integration for unmanned aerial systems from benchtop to flight tests.
• Deploy & Configure Edge Software: Manage Docker-based stacks on onboard computes and peripherals.
• Field & Bench Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot networks and sensors using CLI tools and hardware diagnostics.
• Build Test Tooling & Glue Code: Develop Python and C++ scripts for data reduction, logs, and validation.
• System Cabling & Electronics: Create wiring harnesses and perform precision soldering with block diagrams.
• Manage Communications & Networks: Configure IP routing and interfaces between flight controllers, radios, and ground control.
