Applied Intuition is seeking a Software Engineer (Drone Stack Team) to architect autonomy systems that bridge hardware and software. You’ll bring autonomy stacks to life on real vehicle platforms, stand up integrations, run SIL and HIL evaluations, and support live testing in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, CS, or related engineering field.
• 3+ years hands-on robotics experience spanning hardware, software, and systems integration.
• Proficiency in modern C++ plus Docker, Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL), and tooling (Git, GitLab, VS Code).
• Experience integrating robotics with Pixhawk autopilots and various serial buses.

Responsibilities

• Build and tailor modular autonomy capabilities for defense missions on embedded Linux and compute platforms.
• Integrate autonomy software with vehicle hardware and build service‑oriented software and inter-process frameworks for autonomous UAS.
• Perform system bring‑up, SIL/HIL testing, and participate in live flight tests across UAVs.
• Diagnose and resolve challenging software and integration problems to keep systems reliable.
• Collaborate with DoD domain experts and vendors to deploy autonomy software on OEM aircraft hardware.
