Job summary

Applied Intuition seeks a Software Engineer (Drone Stack Team) to architect and field advanced autonomy for real vehicle platforms. You will stand up integrations, run SIL/HIL tests, and support live field testing across UAVs, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver end-to-end hardware-software solutions.

The role requires hands-on robotics work, strong C++ and Linux skills, and experience with Pixhawk autopilots, ROS-like environments, and onboard sensors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline, with hands-on robotics experience (3+ years).
• Proficiency in modern C++ with Docker, containerized deployments, and Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL).
• Experience integrating robotics products with Pixhawk family autopilots (ArduPilot/PX4).
• Familiarity with communication buses: UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet.

Responsibilities

• Architect and ship autonomous capabilities for defense and commercial applications on embedded Linux and compute platforms.
• Integrate autonomy software with vehicle hardware and sensors; build service-oriented frameworks for UAS.
• Perform SIL/HIL bring-up, testing, and field demos across UAVs.
• Troubleshoot complex software/hardware integration problems to keep systems dependable.
• Collaborate with DoD domain experts and third-party vendors for aircraft hardware integration.
