Job summary

WEL Companies in De Pere, Wisconsin, is seeking a Training & Development Specialist to support CDL truck driver training for students and cadets. You will maintain curricula, mentor participants, and ensure learning objectives are met.

You will observe trainee performance, stay compliant with FMCSA rules, and coordinate with Safety, Operations, and Training to optimize driver refinement. Payroll calculations and documentation duties are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL Class A with 1+ years in transportation.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; AS400 a plus.
• Familiarity with ELD and electronic onboarding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain core curriculum for WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL truck drivers as provided by Leadership.
• Train and mentor WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL truck drivers.
• Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all training activities.
• Observe and evaluate trainee performance to identify onboarding gaps.
• Uphold all training requirements per company policy and FMCSA regulations.
• Coordinate driver refinement scheduling with Safety, Operations, and Training and Development.
• Collaborate with Operations to serve trainees effectively.
• Complete Driver Payroll Calculations for trainer and trainee pay.
• Maintain all necessary files relative to Training and Development.
• Stay current with DOT rules and regulations to ensure accurate information.
