Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Training & Development Specialist to support WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL drivers in De Pere, WI. The role centers on building and maintaining curriculum and ensuring DOT regulatory compliance.

You will train and mentor participants, set learning objectives, and coordinate with Safety, Operations and Training to optimize scheduling and onboarding processes.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or equivalent or qualified experience; required.
• Experience: CDL Class A 1+ Years within transportation
• Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite; preferred AS400; a plus ELD; a plus Electronic onboarding; preferred
• Ability to learn and use propriety software: WEL app; a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain core curriculum for WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL truck drivers as provided by Leadership.
• Train and mentor WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL truck drivers.
• Establish and communicate clear learning objectives to pupil(s) for all learning and training activities.
• Observe and evaluate WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL truck driver performance to identify and remove gaps within the onboarding process.
• Uphold all training requirements per company policy, and FMCSA regulations.
• Work in unison with Safety, Operations and Training and Development to coordinate all driver refinement scheduling.
• Effectively collaborate with Operations representatives to best serve WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL truck drivers relative to providing capacity.
• Complete Driver Payroll Calculations for trainer and trainee pay.
• Maintain all necessary files relative to Training and Development.
• Stay current with DOT rules and regulations to ensure all information presented to WEL Companies students, cadets, and CDL truck drivers is accurate.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
