Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn essential distribution functions and grow into a licensed Class A CDL driver. You will gain hands-on experience in warehouse operations, delivery documentation, and safe vehicle handling through structured training with a Driver Trainer.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and adaptability, with emphasis on meeting DOT regulations and company standards while supporting our nationwide distribution network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability to load/deliver all products ordered by McLane customers.
• Read, write, and understand English well for safety and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position and secure trailer.
• Operate truck safely following all regulations and company policies.
• Inspect equipment and submit DOT reports.
• Document receipts and product temperatures using DDH.
• Train with Driver Trainer and learn driving regulations.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT rules and document delivery details.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customer sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
