McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver, Trainee to join our team. This developmental role trains in essential driver duties, then advances to a full driver position with responsible delivery and customer service tasks.

You will learn safe operating procedures, DOT compliance, and hands-on vehicle operations, progressing toward a high-earning driver role with comprehensive benefits and long-term career potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Possess a Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product.
• Communicate with customers, management, and other teammates.
• Safely drive a tractor-trailer, use a 2-wheeled dolly, ramp, and on board PeopleNet devices.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report.
• Operate Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH), document deliveries and temperatures.
• Learn driving regulations and skills with Driver Trainer.
• Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading trailer and delivering product to customers.
• Provide customer service including on-time delivery and credits.
