Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Driver Trainee to learn the essential functions of distribution and delivery, gaining exposure to warehouse operations while training toward a Class A CDL.

This role includes a third shift with Day 1 benefits and comprehensive programs, and you’ll work with a safety-focused, reliable team to deliver for customers nationwide.

Candidates must be 21+, have a high school diploma or GED, and complete CDL training within six months to advance in the program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training to obtain Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bills of lading.
• Read/write English well enough to perform job tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer equipment and submit DOT inspection report.
• Use DDH to document deliveries and temperatures.
• Ride with Driver Trainer to learn driving regulations and techniques.
• Maintain driver logs per DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading trailers and delivering products to customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
