McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Driver Trainee in United States-Georgia-Austell. You will learn essential functions of the Driver role, including accurate and timely distribution of products to customer locations.

The position provides exposure to warehouse operations as part of the developmental process toward becoming a McLane Driver. As a Driver Trainee, you will train with a Driver Trainer and work toward earning a Class A CDL in 6 months or less, while maintaining safety, logs, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Complete training and receive Class A CDL in 6 months or less.
• Ability to load/unload and deliver products as ordered by McLane customers.
• Read, write and understand English to perform tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects and submit DOT inspection reports.
• Document delivery receipts and product temperatures using Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH).
• Gain knowledge of commercial driving regulations while training with a Driver Trainer.
• Maintain driver logs according to DOT regulations.
• Assist in unloading and delivering products to customer premises.
• Other duties as assigned.
