Job summary

Day & Ross in Duncan, OK is seeking a Driver Manager to oversee a fleet, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries while maximizing productivity and profitability. You will coach drivers, manage routing and loads, and ensure ELD/HOS compliance for optimal performance.

Successful candidates will have leadership experience in transportation, strong communication, and proficiency with TMS, PeopleNet, and MS Office. This role requires a results-driven approach and adherence to DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; logistics experience preferred.
• Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred but not required.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience will be considered.
• Knowledge and experience in Transportation is required.
• Previous Supervision, Transportation and/or Operational experience is necessary.
• Experience leading a team of front-line employees and supervisors from a remote setting.
• TMS System software expertise preferred.
• Experience with PeopleNet system.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of operational budgets.
• Must have strong, positive leadership, influencing and follow up skills.
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
• Proficient in MS Office; SAP a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer relationship skills and service mindset.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a high transactional environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure driver success through relationship building and timely issue resolution.
• Plan and provide complete load information, routing, and directions for drivers.
• Coordinate on-time delivery and hours of service compliance.
• Coach drivers on time management and departure times.
• Support onboarding of ELD systems and HOS compliance.
• Maintain accurate records in the TMS and related systems.
• Monitor on-board messages and monitor critical loads for recovery plans.
• Coordinate weekend dispatch coverage on a rotating schedule.
• Respond to driver and customer inquiries promptly.
• Ensure DOT regulations and company policies are followed.
