Job summary

Day & Ross is seeking a Driver Manager in New Oxford, PA, to lead a fleet of drivers and optimize on-time delivery. You will oversee driver performance, safety, and compliance while driving productivity and profitability within the assigned fleet.

You’ll coordinate with the Driver Management Team, coach on time management, and ensure accurate records in the TMS system. This role emphasizes strong leadership, communication, and adherence to DOT rules in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school Diploma or GED, with Logistics experience preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in Transportation is required.
• Previous Supervision, Transportation and/or Operational experience is necessary.
• Experience leading a team of front line employees and supervisors from a remote setting.
• TMS System software expertise preferred.
• Experience with PeopleNet
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of operational budgets.
• Must have strong, positive leadership, influencing and follow up skills.
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, a working knowledge of SAP small business a plus.
• Communication skills – Very high level of verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrated customer relationship skills and excellent customer service.
• Strong conflict resolution skills.
• Able to work deadlines in high transactional environment.

Responsibilities

• Multitask effectively to manage driver operations and performance.
• Build relationships with drivers and customers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide complete load information including routing and directions.
• Coach drivers on departures, driving time, and hours of service compliance.
• Support on-board ELD and HOS compliance and monitor messages.
• Maintain accurate driver, trip, and customer records in the TMS system.
• Handle inbound communications from drivers and customers.
• Monitor TMS for correct trip information and flow.
• Follow established processes, procedures, and protocol.
• Ensure DOT compliance and company rules are followed.
• Understand driver pay structure and process time-off requests.
• Document driver performance discussions and issues.
• Coordinate weekend dispatch coverage as needed.
