Job summary

Venture Logistics in Sanford, ME seeks a Driver Manager for the 2nd shift to lead a team of professional drivers. You will drive operational efficiency, safety, and compliance while coordinating with planners and service teams to optimize loads and routing.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving with experience in transportation or logistics and familiarity with DOT/FMCSA regulations. On-site work with potential for growth and benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• The candidate shall have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1+ year in transportation or logistics.
• Preferred degrees include an Associate or Bachelor’s in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or Business Administration.
• Experience managing drivers in trucking operations and knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build trust-based relationships with drivers and understand their goals.
• Monitor driver performance metrics including revenue, miles, MPG, on-time delivery, and safety.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback; initiate disciplinary actions when needed.
• Ensure clear weekly plans and load assignments for productivity and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Planners, CSRs, and Load Planners for route optimization and updates.
