Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2–3 years dispatch/driver manager experience in a fast-paced environment.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience.
• Must have experience in dispatching for a trucking company.
• Must have knowledge of the local area.
• Must have basic knowledge of DOT laws and requirements.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Prepare driver schedules for local and long-distance transports.
• Assign load to equipment and driver in a manner to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery and to meet the customer requirements.
• Review customer orders and determine proper routing, equipment, and manpower requirements.
• Supervise drivers.
• Ensure the most efficient freight movement and cost-effective service.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and safety regulations.
• Complete incident/accident reports as required.
• Resolve transportation issues with urgency and professionalism.
• Organize and maintain all paperwork, data files, and reports.
