Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in transportation operations and logistics required.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience within transportation/ logistics preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance requirements.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to operational detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced transportation environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to evaluate performance and identify improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide leadership to a team of drivers, including performance monitoring and coaching.
• Conduct regular driver performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a collaborative team environment emphasizing safety and high performance.
• Address and resolve driver-related operational issues and escalate when needed.
• Plan, review, and optimize routes to improve fuel efficiency and on-time delivery.
• Monitor traffic, weather, and routes; adjust to maintain service reliability.
• Ensure DOT regulations and company policies are followed.
• Conduct regular driver meetings focused on safety and operations.
• Collaborate with customer service to address delivery concerns and ensure timely resolutions.
• Support initiatives to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
• Utilize TMS and related tech to manage operations and performance.
• Provide training to drivers on company tech platforms and systems.
• Review and approve operational documentation and driver records.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations.
