Job summary

WM is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee to lead onboarding, development, coaching, and performance management for drivers and helpers. The role involves substantial field work, partnering with frontline staff to ensure effective daily operations and safety compliance.

In this onsite position, the candidate will regularly engage with frontline teams, review best practices, and document regulatory records while promoting WM Way standards and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of a degree, High School Diploma (accredited) and two years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Driver's License valid upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Onboard, develop, coach, mentor, and manage performance of drivers and helpers.
• Spend majority of time in the field with frontline employees.
• Provide tools, instruction, and feedback for successful daily duties.
• Meet daily with new frontline employees to ensure onboarding support.
• Maintain safety as a paramount priority and lead by example.
• Document and maintain records required by regulatory agencies (e.g., DOT).
• Visit customers/sites to assess safety issues and explore service alternatives.
