Job summary

WM is seeking an Operations Manager Trainee to lead onboarding, development, coaching, and performance management for drivers and helpers. The role is field-focused, maintaining positive relationships with frontline employees while spending substantial time in the field.

You will meet with new hires daily, review best practices, and mentor teams to align with the WM Way. Role requires safety leadership and accurate documentation of regulatory records.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (accredited) or High School Diploma with two years of relevant work experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the country of the position.
• Driver's License valid upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead onboarding and development of drivers and helpers; coach and mentor frontline staff.
• Conduct daily check-ins with new frontline employees to support onboarding.
• Maintain safety, regulatory records, and daily route operation documentation.
• Perform root cause investigations for injuries/incidents and ensure retraining as needed.
• Visit customer sites to assess safety issues and propose service alternatives when appropriate.
