Knight Transportation is seeking a capable Operations/Planning professional to lead a fleet of 30+ drivers and maximize profitability across routes in Utah. You will develop strong relationships with Driving Associates to ensure safety, service and retention while coordinating with planners and sales teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, payroll accuracy, and proactive communication to support company goals and exceptional performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in Operations and/or Planning and/or Customer Accounts.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Must be able to lead others.
• Must possess exceptional communication skills.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work in high pressure situations in a fast paced environment.
• Must be proficient in MS Office.

Responsabilités

• Lead a fleet of 30+ drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity.
• Routinely review Profit/Loss (P/L) for assigned area and maximize profitability.
• Develop relationships with Driving Associates to ensure safety, service, equipment care, fuel performance and retention.
• Coach Driving Associates to achieve weekly mileage goals and manage home time and hours of service.
• Maximize P/L for all assigned tractors.
• Collaborate with Planners and assign drivers to lanes that best serve the company and the driver.
• Discuss loads and service expectations with every driver on every plan.
• Provide coaching and training to help Driving Associates reach their potential.
• Communicate safety expectations including pre-trip inspections and route conditions.
• Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
• Provide timely in-person reviews for Driving Associates.
• Track freight to final destination to ensure on-time delivery.
• Work with sales/account teams to keep customers informed with current information.
• Support others to achieve organizational objectives.
