Job summary

Knight Transportation is seeking a focused operations professional to lead a 30+ driver fleet, optimize profitability, and foster strong driver relationships. You will drive safety, efficiency, and service excellence across planning and field operations.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in Operations/Planning, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and strong MS Office skills to manage workloads in a fast-paced environment. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
• Must be able to lead others.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• 2+ years in Operations/Planning/Customer Accounts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a fleet of 30+ drivers and optimize driver availability for productivity.
• Review P/L for assigned area and maximize profitability.
• Build relationships with Driving Associates to improve safety, service, and retention.
• Coach Associates to meet weekly mileage goals with appropriate home time and hours.
• Collaborate with Planners to assign drivers to lanes.
• Discuss loads and service expectations with drivers on plans.
• Provide training and coaching to help drivers reach performance targets.
• Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
• Provide timely in-person reviews for Driving Associates.
• Track freight to destination to ensure on-time delivery.
• Work with sales to provide customers with current information.
• Support others to achieve organizational objectives.
