Job summary

Transam-Trucking is seeking an experienced Night Dispatch Supervisor to oversee driver activity, communication, and safe, timely deliveries. You will monitor operations, provide direction to drivers, and escalate urgent issues to the Fleet Manager as needed.

You will train drivers, review DOT logs, manage relays to ensure on-time freight, and respond to iSeries alerts with urgency. You will reinforce company values, enforce policies, and maintain a harassment-free work environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors activities and provides direction to drivers to ensure safe and timely delivery of freight.
• Communicates with drivers on an ongoing basis, primarily via telephone and mobile communication messaging.
• Exercises independent judgment to determine situations that need to be addressed immediately with employees and/or independent contractors.
• Provides ongoing feedback to drivers regarding their personal performance, both positive and constructive.
• Trains Drivers in their duties as the situation demands.
• Assist Drivers in trip planning.
• Relays responsibilities to ensure load delivery on time and relays to Fleet Manager when appropriate.
• Receives and addresses iSeries Alert Messages indicating emergency issues with trailer temperature or cargo.
• Writes up accident reports and OS&D reports as part of risk management.
• Enforces policies from Driver’s Information Handbook and Owner Operator Information Handbook.
• Elevates auto-dialer usage and manages agent status and outbound calls as directed.
• Dispositions calls to summarize outcomes and maintains professional conduct to ensure a harassment-free work environment.
