Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a versatile Dock/Delivery associate to operate straight trucks, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and manage safe freight handling between service centers and customer locations. The role includes forklift and dock duties, with a starting hourly rate of $28.48.

Applicants must hold a Class B CDL or CLP, meet DOT/MVR standards, and be able to lift up to 100 pounds. This is an on-site position with benefits and opportunities for growth within FedEx Freight.

Qualifications

• Must hold Class B CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• Must have acceptable MVR based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Ability to read and understand route schedules.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds multiple times weekly.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain related documentation.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding.
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays, arrivals, and issues.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Ask customers for additional business and provide leads to sales.
• Chain vehicle tires as required.
• Follow laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
