Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a straight-truck operator to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customer locations. Role includes dock duties, forklift operation, and non-driving tasks as part of daily responsibilities.

Qualified candidates must hold a Class B CDL or CLP, maintain a clean MVR, and meet DOT regulations. Hourly pay ranges from $28.48 to $33.93 with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must possess Class B CDL or Commercial Learning Permit (CLP).
• Must have acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Ability to read and understand route schedules.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to sit, bend, twist, squat, climb in/out of truck.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Secure freight with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Collect checks for freight charges and maintain records.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and placarding.
• Follow Dispatch instructions and report delays or problems.
• Provide internal/external customer service and communicate with customers.
