Job summary

Sonic Drive-In in the United States seeks a General Manager to lead the drive-in’s operations and staff. You will recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, schedule, and supervise the assistant managers and employees to deliver exceptional guest experiences while upholding company standards.

The role requires managing opening/closing duties, controlling labor and food costs, resolving guest and employee issues, maintaining records and reports, and developing local marketing action plans.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Advanced studies in business, restaurant management, or related fields.
• Experience: At least three years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing employees.
• Knowledge of labor laws, health and safety regulations, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, coach, lead, schedule, assign, discipline, and terminate staff.
• Manage compensation levels pursuant to company guidelines.
• Supervise all drive-in operations to ensure an optimal guest experience.
• Handle opening and/or closing duties.
• Resolve guest issues and concerns effectively.
• Manage food, labor, paper, and inventory to maximize cost control and efficiency.
• Lead regular team meetings and maintain operational records.
• Develop, implement, and manage local marketing and business plans.
• Ensure proper maintenance of drive-in equipment and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Perform all station duties as needed and maintain sanitation standards.
• Move and stock food product weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
