Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking a General Manager to lead the drive-in’s operations and staff. You will recruit, train, and supervise managers and crew, oversee scheduling, budgeting, and vendor relations, and ensure safe, high-quality guest service all shift long.

The position emphasizes cost control, operational efficiency, and drive-in performance, with a focus on local marketing, compliance with laws, and team leadership to deliver excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business/restaurant management preferred.
• Experience: at least three years of restaurant management experience (QSR preferred).
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision; experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring and managing employees.
• Knowledge/skills: labor laws, health and safety regulations; strong verbal/written communication; basic math and accounting.
• Leadership: ability to recruit, train, coach, and lead a team; manage cost control and guest service.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, manage, direct, coach, lead, schedule, assign, discipline, and terminate the drive-in’s assistant managers and employees.
• Manage drive-in employees’ compensation levels pursuant to company guidelines.
• Supervise, lead, and manage all aspects of drive-in operations to provide an optimal guest experience.
• Manage opening and/or closing duties; handle guest and employee issues/concerns.
• Plan, forecast, and adjust food, labor, inventory to maximize cost-control and efficiency.
• Lead regular team meetings and maintain all drive-in recordkeeping and reports.
• Develop and manage action plans for local marketing and business performance.
• Ensure maintenance of drive-in and equipment; supervise vendor performance; comply with laws.
