Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager in the United States to support the General Manager in daily drive-in operations and staff development. You will train and supervise team members, carhops, and skating carhops, ensuring high standards of food quality, cleanliness and efficiency.

The role requires managing irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, with a focus on staffing, inventory and cost control.

Qualifications

• Six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year of entry-level retail management experience.
• Excellent communication skills; basic math, reading and computer literacy.
• Ability to follow directions and work autonomously; able to multi-task and solve problems.
• Willingness to adhere to appearance, uniform and hygiene standards.
• Friendly, professional team player who can motivate others.

Responsibilities

• Manages, trains, monitors and coaches Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Directs and assigns staff to meet food service standards.
• Enforces employee handbook policies and practices.
• Performs opening and/or closing duties for the drive-in.
• Monitors staffing, inventory and food cost; adjusts as needed.
• Completes weekly inventory and maintains records.
• Supports admin tasks including filing and documentation.
• Fosters a customer-service mentality and ensures guests are served promptly.
• Responds to guest requests and helps resolve complaints with supervision.
