Job summary

HDR is seeking a Drinking Water Market Sector Business Development Director to lead and implement growth strategies across HDR geographies. This senior role partners with Market Sector leadership, regional teams and client managers to drive top-line growth and strategic initiatives.

You will pursue key drinking water opportunities, mentor staff, align marketing with service delivery, and represent HDR in industry associations while advancing HDR’s employee-owned culture and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years relevant industry experience in drinking water planning, engineering design, and project management.
• Strong ability to develop and manage client relationships and win strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership in staff development and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of drinking water market sector growth strategies across HDR geographies.
• Serve as Client Manager for key clients and Pursuit Leader on select opportunities.
• Promote HDR services to Drinking Water clients and collaborate with regional leadership.
• Provide staff mentoring and contribute to industry leadership and associations.

Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
