Job summary

HDR seeks a Drinking Water Market Sector Business Development Director to lead strategy and growth across HDR geographies, coordinating with leadership, client managers, and staff to advance HDR services in drinking water across multiple markets.

The role requires strong leadership, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to drive top-line growth while developing relationships with clients and industry partners; extensive travel is expected. HDR values inclusion and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of drinking water planning, design, and project management experience.
• BS in civil or environmental engineering; professional engineering registration.
• Proven ability to win contracts and develop client relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to travel.
• Experience with strategic positioning and technical differentiation.
• Experience in sales and win strategies.
• Knowledge of procurement of professional services.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Drinking Water Market Sector BD strategy across HDR geographies.
• Serve as Client Manager for key clients and Pursuit Leader on select opportunities.
• Promote HDR services to Drinking Water clients and coordinate market sector initiatives.
• Support project delivery as Principal in Charge and participate in QA/QC processes.
• Develop staff, recruit, and mentor within the MS.
• Build relationships with industry partners and senior leadership.
• Travel as needed to engage clients and markets.
