Job summary

HDR, an employee-owned firm, seeks a Drinking Water Market Sector Business Development Director to lead strategic growth across HDR geographies. You will partner with Market Sector leadership, regional groups, and client managers to drive top-line growth in drinking water services, including planning, program management, and advisory offerings.

The role requires a minimum of 15 years in drinking water planning and engineering, a PE license, and proven sales leadership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in drinking water planning and project management.
• PE registration or equivalent professional licensure.
• Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead market sector development and pursuit strategies for drinking water services.
• Coordinate with Market Sector leadership, regional groups, and client managers to drive growth.
• Mentor staff and develop talent within the Drinking Water MS.
• Support contract reviews, risk management, and QA/QC on key projects.
• Develop relationships with clients and industry partners to win high-value contracts.
