Job summary

Accurate Personnel seeks an experienced Drayage Supervisor to lead short-distance transportation, import movement, and carrier coordination within a busy logistics team.

The role focuses on shipment tracking, PO management, inventory capacity, and transportation planning across a national network, with significant travel. This is a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with growth opportunities and KPI-driven success.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant logistics, transportation, drayage, supply chain, grocery, or cold-chain experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in drayage, container transportation, import logistics, or a similar transportation environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing and communicating with carriers and transportation brokers.
  • Knowledge of cold-chain transportation and/or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Understanding of import/container movement, shipment tracking, delivery scheduling, and transportation capacity.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or developing employees.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant transportation/logistics experience will also be considered.
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day drayage and short-distance transportation operations supporting nationwide imports.
  • Oversee the movement of shipments from port arrival through delivery and empty container return.
  • Receive and manage arrival notices and ISF information prior to vessel arrival.
  • Create and distribute delivery/work orders.
  • Coordinate daily container delivery schedules with drayage carriers.
  • Track and trace import shipments nationwide.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, vendors, warehouse operations, and internal logistics teams.
  • Communicate urgent transportation issues and shipment delays to the appropriate teams.
  • Monitor purchase orders, inventory levels, and warehouse capacity to prevent operational disruptions.
  • Review PO and SKU information for accuracy and identify discrepancies that could impact inventory or capacity.
  • Source transportation capacity based on customer and operational needs.
  • Provide timely shipment lifecycle updates to customers and internal operations.
  • Monitor on-time delivery, product lead times, and overall customer service performance.
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to drayage deliveries.
  • Identify transportation or supply chain issues and develop corrective action and improvement plans.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across transportation and supply chain operations.
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Perform reporting and other logistics-related responsibilities as needed.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Drayage Supervisor to join a fast-paced and growing Logistics/Supply Chain team. This position is responsible for overseeing short-distance transportation and drayage operations supporting the movement of imported products, containers, and inventory throughout the supply chain network.

Unlike traditional long-haul transportation roles, this position focuses heavily on drayage, import/container movement, carrier coordination, shipment tracking, PO management, inventory capacity, and transportation planning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong transportation/logistics background, experience working with carriers and brokers, and the ability to manage time-sensitive shipments in a high-volume environment.
