Job summary

PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. in Irving, Texas seeks a Drayage Operation Coordinator to monitor inbound containers and coordinate inland drayage from port/rail to DCs and customer warehouses. You will work with drayage and import teams to ensure timely container movement, communicate with carriers and customers, and report to the drayage manager.

Bachelor’s degree in SCM or related field preferred; strong ocean transportation knowledge and data-driven problem solving are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of international transportation (especially ocean shipping).
  • Experience in establishing a transport plan that can optimize loading rate, transport time and logistics cost.
  • Analytical/data-driven coupled with creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong cross-functional teamwork, collaboration, interpersonal, with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and other applications.
  • Prioritization skill, able to shift focus to urgent issues while not falling behind on other duties.
  • Handle high pressure and fast-paced operations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the drayage process of shipment movement
  • Manage relationships with selected drayage carriers and internal/external customers
  • Actively communicate with shipping lines, truckers, freight receivers and internal related parties including supply chain planners.
  • Share daily container delivery schedules with drayage carriers and distribution centers
  • Analyze, create, edit, track and trace select service providers such as drayage carriers, rail companies, rail terminals
  • Able to analyze service and cost data for actions or recommendations for business improvement
  • Monitor account issues and communicate/liaison with management to implement/drive solutions
  • Document corrective actions and improvement plans properly and verify plan's effectiveness.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required

Job description – Drayage Operation Coordinator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drayage operation coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and managing inbound containers for company’s network. The Drayage Coordinator position is responsible for tracking and scheduling the inland drayage portion of import container movements from port or rail ramp to DCs and customer’s warehouse. This position will work with the members of other drayage operation team and import team to service with timely arranging containers. Drayage coordinator will report to drayage manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Responsibilities:

Education and Experience:

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be detail oriented, highly reliable and efficient
  • Hard-working, dedicated and focused on achieving results
  • Ability to work independently as well as with partners in a dynamic environment
  • Enthusiastic team player always willing to assist other and support the team
