Job summary

Accurate Personnel is hiring a Drayage Supervisor to manage day-to-day supply chain operations in and around Ruther Glen, VA. The role focuses on supporting imports nationwide, managing carriers and brokers, and ensuring timely deliveries.

  • 25 years grocery or cold-chain experience above manager.
  • Experience managing carriers and brokers in the transportation market.
  • Experience in cold-chain management both in the warehouse and transportation.
  • Bachelor7s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Previous experience managing, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Previous experience as a drayage supervisor or similar role.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement processes supporting supply-chain needs, including PO and inventory capacity levels to ensure service to our stores via product delivery to main hubs.
  • Coordinate with other operational resources in the supply-chain network to develop strategic and tactical metrics, maintaining capacity levels at proper WOS/percentages by site.
  • Support and manage supply-chain PO impacts to inventory levels, ensuring capacities are not exceeded due to poor processing and/or planning.
  • Use PO management tracking for domestic produce vendors, mixing center shipments, container imports/exports, and domestic shipments.
  • Design, create, and implement impact plans for the supply-chain network for specific or multiple warehouses using systemic sites, PCC Portal, Whse Portal, Gold, TMW, and other tracking metrics.
  • Build a world-class supply-chain team that meets transportation and warehouse needs.
  • Negotiate, maintain communication, and act as liaison between carriers, vendors, and operations.
  • Review PO/SKU records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures, supporting capacity expectations and impacts.
  • Trace PO forecasting discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records, recommending remedial actions to minimize capacity impacts.
  • Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency within the supply-chain teams.
  • Provide useful and timely updates during shipment lifecycles.
  • Assist customers in identifying services that fit their needs and provide information on additional services.
  • Source capacity to meet customer needs.
  • Work directly with operations to support customer accounts.
  • Utilize company resources to identify opportunities and ensure service requirements are met.
  • Carry out directory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; designing and implementing management and operational procedures; and general problem resolution.
  • Monitor and manage the drayage process of shipment movement (receive arrival notices, ISF information before port arrival, create and send delivery orders, empty container return).
  • Manage relationships with the selected logistic team and communicate urgently in case of emergency.
  • Share daily container delivery schedules with drayage carriers.
  • Analyze, create, edit, track, and trace imports nationwide.
  • Monitor and drive improvement to customer service goals, including on-time delivery product lead-times.
  • Report monthly on key performance indicators for drayage deliveries.
  • Check delivery status and share with operations and the logistics team.
  • Document corrective actions and improvement plans, verifying their effectiveness.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.

Requirements and Qualifications
