Job summary

Job Summary

The Drafter 2 is responsible for making 2D changes as outlined on technical drawings of natural gas distribution and/or transmission pipelines or facilities for new business, public and system improvement, and maintenance projects utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software. In addition, the Drafter 2 creates, modifies and controls detailed drawings from sketches, plans and written and verbal instructions generally provided by the Engineering team. The Drafter 2 will collaborate with Engineering, Designers, and other key stakeholders on projects of varying scopes and sizes.

Essential Functions

Assist the Engineer with basic project setup within SAP as well as GIS and CAD. Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to ensure accurate drafting. Use AutoCAD to produce accurate and clear technical drawings and schematics (P&IDs, Isometrics) for natural gas distribution systems in 2D. Prepare and maintain accurate records of design changes, revisions, and updates to ensure documentation is up to date. Can work autonomously but will ask frequent questions to ensure proper direction from the Designers or Engineering team. Able to assist with integration of site survey data for processing. Integrate and extrapolate GIS data to support site analysis, route selection, and environmental assessments. Possible support of Engineering/Operations employees in emergency situationsalong with other courses of business operations. Possible need to demonstrate ability to work through emergency outage management, possibly providing after-hours support.

Required Qualifications for Position

• High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of relevant job experience Basic understanding of Engineering and Construction principles Medium Basic understanding of Plant 2D Medium Basic knowledge of industry standards and regulatory guidelines Medium Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment High Strong communication and interpersonal skills High Proficiency is CAD Software (2D) preferred Familiarity with GIS Software preferred.

Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position

• Associate's degree Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field

Salary Range

Salary Range*: $62,000.00 - $86,800.00 *The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity.
